National Water Quality Month was created to help remind us that freshwater is a finite resource, and without it, life as we know it would not exist. In Allen County, it is easy to forget how precious freshwater is when it is so easy to find and is so celebrated. Fort Wayne has won Best Tasting Water at the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water competition several times and Cedar Creek is one of just a few rivers in the state to be a “scenic river.”
With the water being so praised and accomplished, it is not difficult to turn a blind eye to what our everyday actions can do to the streams behind our house or the rivers down the street. No matter where you stand or what you do- you make an impact on waterways. There are hundreds of individual choices that one can make that can make a difference. How do you make a difference?
